Chickasaw Trail and Greenline Connector page 2

Trail Notes:

One reason I chose to visit the Park was because of it's location. It was easy to access from I-40 or 240.

Jake, the dog, went with me. The Park was very dog friendly. Naturally, they have rules for the dog to be on a leash and to pick up the poop.

They even have a large area in the Park where dogs can run free. There dog area is not a small enclosed area, instead it is just a large open area.

I originally planned to walk the the Tour de Wolf trail; but following a heavy rain, decided against it.

Quarter of a mile posts were on the Chickasaw Trail.

Playground

The Woodland Discovery Playground was just opening when we walked the path. The modular design was quite interesting. Definitely worth a visit if you have children. I think I would have even enjoyed playing there; but they had rules against that, I guess I am too big.

There were several lakes throughout the Park, each had at least one fisherman.

The Chickasaw and Greenline Connector Trails are at least partly shaded. The summer months could be warm.

Restrooms and water were available at the Visitor Center and at the new Woodland Discovery Playground.

The Park had designated for kite flying, boating, horse, and disc golf.

There were also cross country running courses. I saw the markers but did not take the time to figure out the course.

The Park did not have team sport fields.

I also did not do the Wolf River section of the Park. I did not discover it until leaving.

The farm is really big, 4,500 acres. (Wikipedia)
